Alternative Vibes Detected: Latvian and Estonian Showcase!
What's fresh and exciting in Latvia and Estonia?
Devilstone is launching a Showcase concert series to present the newest and most interesting happenings in the neighboring Latvian and Estonian alternative music scenes.
ALTERNATIVE VIBES DETECTED: LATVIAN SHOWCASE
Latvia's alternative scene is booming with new titles, especially during the pandemic period. Devilstone has selected the hottest and trendiest bands from the vast array of fresh Latvian bands, and created a carefully curated Spotify playlist: The Best of Latvia Right NOW!
Many artists from this playlist perform in Latvian, but this only adds to the surprising diversity of Latvian music. Some of them are no longer active :(
Three bands from this shortlist will perform at Devilstone to paint a vivid picture of the Latvian alternative scene. PERESTROIKA, a retro-duo, balances between obscure pop, light electronica, and British artrock. ASTON KAIS delivers a progressive rock show, peppered with all sorts of wind and reed instruments, avant-garde toying with surf and unintrusive electro. LES ATTITUDES SPECTRALES, on stage for a little longer than the other two, will release a new record. Their style is a colourful mix of (post)punk, blues, indie, psychedelic, and noise rock.
Latvian alternative music Showcase will be held on Friday at the Barbablu stage. Don't worry if you can't understand the lyrics; that makes it even more interesting.
ALTERNATIVE VIBES DETECTED: ESTONIAN SHOWCASE
Estonia’s alternative scene is just as alive and thriving as Latvia’s. There’s quite a lot of gorgeous music to brag about - and we present three acts from the beautiful North to the audience’s judgment.
Estonia's alternative scene is just as alive and thriving as Latvia's. Devilstone presents three acts from the beautiful North. First, OCEAN DISTRICTS, postrock/postmetal instrumentalists, will bring their new album to Devilstone's stage. Next, KASCHALOT sways between atmospheric post and progressive rock, promising a loud and heavy but inexplicably positive mood. Last, MÖRT, five guys with a brilliant sense of humor, will have some seriously groovy metal with blackish riffs and influences of punk.
The Estonian showcase will take place on Saturday at the Barbablu stage.
Come and see the first series of concerts dedicated to Latvia and Estonia and get to know what's hot in our neighbors' alternative music scene right now.
